HEES, TVIX, HGSI, GLNG Among Charts to Watch

It wasn’t what you would call a good day on Wall Street on Wednesday. The market had a rollover in the afternoon and a lot of large-cap stocks go hit. Some of the stocks, though, that we follow, and a few new ones that we noticed, had a pretty good day. Let’s take a look at those.

H&E Equipment Services Inc. (HEES) had a big day on Wednesday. It broke its declining topsline and ran up to resistance, up 1.30, or 14%, on 478,000 shares traded. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s the biggest volume it’s had in a couple months. Look for a move up toward the short-term target around 12 1/2-3/4. Beyond that, the intermediate target is set at 15.

VelocityShares Daily 2x VIX ST ETN (TVIX) was a big winner on Wednesday, jumping from 52.55 to 64.83. That’s a 9-point jump. It was several points off the high, but it still closed up 7.37 to 62.58, or 13.4%, on 3.7 million shares traded. It came down hard from 109 to the high 40s, finally bounced, and on Wednesday it jumped right up against lateral price and moving average resistance. A move through this range and we could see this stock hit 70, maybe 75 short-term.

Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI) has been very strong of late on takeover rumors. It had a breakaway gap on Tuesday, and on Wednesday it pulled back to the 21-day,  exploded to over 15, and then pulled back to 13.98. Still, it’s up 1.16, or 9%, on 20.6 million shares traded. It got up to the lateral price resistance in the 15 zone, and the next target is 15.65-70, and then 16 1/2.

Golar LNG Ltd. (GLNG) has been acting very well. On Wednesday it took out the declining topsline and ran right up to its all-time high at 39.90, and backed of to 38.25, up 1.95, or 5%, on nearly 1.5 million shares traded. That’s high volume for this stock. If it gets to 39 3/4, look for it to move into the low to mid 40s.
