Halloween, Normally a Treat for Traders
As detailed on page 145, of the Stock Trader’s Almanac 2012, the beginning and ends of months have a historically bullish bias. Anticipation of and actual retirement account inflows are likely responsible for this strength. So it should be no surprise that Halloween exhibits bullish tendencies over the past 31 years. However as seen in the table below, the past four times that Halloween fell on a Monday, the DJIA has underperformed with two declines and two modest gains. Read full post
