Hemline Index Still Bearish

Just before Fashion Week NYC got underway last night an old friend heard from a couple of fashion designers that long hemlines are in this fall. Falling hemlines have historically accompanied falling markets or lower stock prices as conservative styles often coincide with tight economic times and visa versa. Another fashion friend at Ann Taylor says it’s kind of a mixed batch of long and short at this time, but long is definitely trending big time at Ann Taylor. Read full post
