Stocks to Watch: Teva, Arch Coal, Dish Network and More!

Teva Pharmaceutical has agreed to buy Cephalon Inc. for $6.8 billion, building its branded and specialty pharmaceuticals business as it seeks growth to meet its 2015 revenue targets. Cephalon shares rose 5.5% to $81.25 in premarket trading, compared with the $81.50 offer price. Teva’s American depositary shares climbed 3.4% to $47.30. Cephalon had been fighting a hostile $5.7 billion offer from Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. Shares of Canada’s Valeant fell 6.8% to $49.07 premarket.

Arch Coal Inc. has agreed to acquire International Coal Group for $3.4 billion in a deal it said would make it the second-largest U.S. producer of the coal used in steel production. International Coal shares jumped 31% to $14.40 in recent premarket trading, compared with the $14.60 offer price. Arch Coal shares slumped 2.3% to $33.50.
